Privacy Policy

The short version: our tools run in your browser, your files are never uploaded to us, and we don't sell data. The details are below.

This Privacy Policy explains what information DailyUtils ("we", "us") collects when you use dailyutils.net (the "Site"), how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site you agree to this policy. If you have questions, email us at dailyutils.net@gmail.com.

1. Files and data you enter into our tools

Our tools — including the PDF, image, video, spreadsheet, text, JSON and resume tools and every calculator — process your input locally in your web browser. Files you open, text you paste and numbers you enter are handled on your own device and are not uploaded to our servers. We cannot see them, and we do not store them.

A small number of tools need to fetch something from another service to work. Those are listed in section 4, together with exactly what is sent.

2. Information collected automatically

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how the Site is used — for example, which pages are visited, how visitors arrive, and which devices and browsers they use. Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, time on page, referring website, approximate location (city or country, derived from your IP address), device type, operating system, browser and screen size. It uses cookies and similar identifiers to tell visits apart. We use this information only in aggregate, to improve the Site, and we do not use it to identify you personally.

Google processes this data under its own terms. You can learn more in How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and opt out entirely with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Hosting and security logs

The Site is hosted and delivered by Cloudflare, Inc. Like any web server, Cloudflare processes technical information about each request — such as your IP address, browser user agent, the page requested and the time of the request — to deliver the Site, keep it fast, and protect it against abuse and attacks. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies for this purpose. See Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.

3. Cookies and local storage

We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries:

  • Analytics cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*) set by Google Analytics, as described above.
  • Security cookies that Cloudflare may set to protect the Site.
  • Local storage on your device to remember your preferences and work: your light or dark theme, game high scores, the PDF thumbnail size you chose, cached exchange rates, and resume and cover-letter drafts in the Resume Builder so you don't lose your work. This data stays in your browser — it is never sent to us — and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser's site data for dailyutils.net.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The tools will keep working without them; only your saved preferences and analytics will be affected.

4. Third-party services used by specific tools

When you use the tools below, your browser contacts a third-party service directly. That service receives your IP address and browser information as part of the request, under its own privacy policy.

ToolServiceWhat is sent
Currency ConverterFrankfurter (api.frankfurter.dev)A request for the latest exchange rates. The amounts you convert are not sent.
Password Strength CheckerHave I Been Pwned — Pwned Passwords (api.pwnedpasswords.com)Only the first 5 characters of a SHA-1 hash of your password (k-anonymity). Your password itself never leaves your device.
YouTube Thumbnail DownloaderYouTube image servers (i.ytimg.com)The video ID from the link you paste, to fetch its public thumbnail images.
Background RemoverIMG.LY static file server (staticimgly.com)A one-time download of the AI model files. Your image is processed locally and is not sent.
Batch image tools and HEIC to JPGjsDelivr CDN (cdn.jsdelivr.net)A download of open-source code libraries (for ZIP and HEIC support). Your images are not sent.

Some pages also contain ordinary links to other websites (for example, a "view on map" link in the Image Analyzer). Nothing is sent to those sites unless you click the link. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites.

5. Information you send us

If you email us, we receive your email address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to reply to you and to fix the problem you report. We don't add you to a mailing list, and we delete correspondence we no longer need.

6. What we don't do

  • We don't require an account, and we don't ask for your name, email or phone number to use any tool.
  • We don't upload, read, or keep the files you process with our tools.
  • We don't sell, rent or trade personal information.
  • We don't currently show advertising. If that changes, we will update this policy before it does.

7. How long we keep information

Analytics data is kept by Google Analytics under the retention period set for our property, after which it is deleted automatically. Hosting logs are kept by Cloudflare for a limited period for security and operations. Emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

8. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live — including under the EU and UK GDPR, India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and US state laws such as the CCPA — you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, to object to or restrict its processing, and to withdraw consent. To make a request, email us; we will respond within the time the law requires. Because we don't run accounts, the only personal information we can usually link to you is correspondence you have sent us.

You can also:

  • opt out of Google Analytics with the add-on linked above, or by blocking cookies;
  • use your browser's privacy settings or a content blocker to block analytics scripts;
  • clear your browser's site data to remove everything stored locally by the Site.

9. Children's privacy

The Site is a general-audience service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International visitors

Our service providers, including Google and Cloudflare, may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. They do so under their own safeguards for international data transfers.

11. Security

The Site is served only over HTTPS. Because our tools process your files on your own device, the most sensitive data you work with never reaches us in the first place. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect the information we do handle.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the Site changes. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be noted on this page.
