Keyboard works too: type the expression and press Enter. Implicit multiplication is supported (2π, 3(4+1)).

Precedence, parentheses, and floating point

A scientific calculator evaluates by operator precedence rather than left to right, so2 + 3 × 4 is 14, not 20. The order runs parentheses, exponents, then multiplication and division together left to right, then addition and subtraction together. Multiplication does not outrank division — they share a level, which is why 8 ÷ 2 × 4 is 16 rather than 1.

Trigonometric functions depend entirely on the angle mode. sin(90) is 1 in degrees and about 0.894 in radians, and a wrong mode gives a plausible wrong answer with no warning — the most common source of silent error in calculator work. Check the mode indicator before trusting any trig result.

Floating-point arithmetic is binary, and some decimal values have no exact binary form, so0.1 + 0.2 famously lands a hair off 0.3. Displays usually round this away, which is normally what you want and occasionally hides a real accumulation of error. Use parentheses liberally rather than relying on remembered precedence — they cost nothing and remove the ambiguity entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions

What scientific functions are supported?

Trigonometric functions (sin, cos, tan), inverse trig, logarithms (log, ln), exponents (x^y), square root (√), factorial (n!), and constants (π, e).

Can I switch between Degrees and Radians?

Yes, click the DEG/RAD toggle button to switch modes for trigonometric functions.

Does it support keyboard input?

Yes, you can type numbers, operators (+, -, *, /), and press Enter for instant calculation.

Is my data stored or sent anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated 100% locally in your browser.
